How much does a panel upgrade cost in Maryland?
200-amp panel upgrades typically start around $5,000. Final pricing depends on the meter equipment, grounding, utility requirements, permits, circuit count, and existing conditions. Utility fees charged by BGE or Pepco are billed directly to the property owner. We handle all permits and inspections throughout our service area.
Do you pull permits and handle inspections?
Yes — permits and inspections are included in every qualifying job. We handle all filings with your local jurisdiction and coordinate the required inspections. You don't have to deal with county offices or utility companies. We manage the entire process from start to final sign-off.
Are you licensed in Maryland, DC, and Virginia?
Yes. Richie Electric holds active Master Electrician licenses in Maryland, Washington DC, and Virginia. We're fully insured. You can verify our licenses through each state's official licensing portal — links are available on our About page.
How long does an EV charger installation take?
Most Level 2 home EV charger installations are completed in 2–4 hours. If your panel has an open 240V circuit slot and the charger location is close to the panel, it can be even faster. If a panel upgrade is needed first to support the new circuit, that adds a day. We assess your setup during the estimate and give you a realistic timeline upfront.
Do you offer emergency electrical service?
Our regular hours are 9 AM to 5 PM daily. After-hours emergency appointments may be available for urgent situations — sparking, power loss, exposed wires. Additional fees apply. Call (202) 641-1518 and we'll do our best to help.
